An exemplary photobook by Dirk Alvermann, comprising a handpicked selection of his images. Dirk Alvermann was born in Dusseldorf in 1937. Early in his career he became an influential political photographer publishing numerous books including Algerien - L'Algeacute;rie (1960) and Keine Experimente - Bilder zum Grundgesetz (1961). Throughout the 1960's he worked as a photographer for magazines including Neue Berliner Illustrierte, Quick, Das Magazin and the photographic agency Magnum. In 1966 he emigrated to East-Berlin where he continued to live and work. Since the publication of his seminal book Ich Liebe Dich in 1979 he has focused on his work as a film maker and an author. Dacapo contains a good selection of his images with an emphasis on Algerien und Keine Experimente.
