'The Waldschloesschen Bridge is there, the World Heritage designation is gone. Nevertheless, tourists circulate amidst the Frauenkirche, Semper Opera and Zwinger and snap thousands of photos of Dresden's attractions. Kai-Olaf Hesse sought other motifs. In 2012, on a fellowship, the photographer wandered about the hidden and quiet corners of the Saxon capital. And yet, or perhaps precisely for this reason, his photographs of "art on buildings" projects in all weathers, faccedil;ades of housing complexes and freighters on the River Elbe by twilight convey a very precise picture of the Dresden.'
