Commissioned as an in house publication by the president of Cray Research, on the occasion of the company's fifteenth anniversary. The book was never available commercially and was presented to company employees as a gift. The photos document the building of Cray computers at Chippewa Falls, WI. Many of the workers who built these machines were women whom the company's owner, Seymour Cray, selected for their talents as weavers or at other fabric arts and crafts. Their discipline and culture of perfection helped to install hundreds of miles of wiring with precision. Cray at Chippewa Falls.
