Ken Grant
Ken Grant was born in Liverpool in 1967. Since the 1980’s he has photographed his contemporaries in the city and engaged in sustained projects both in the UK and wider Europe. A monograph of the Liverpool pictures, The Close Season, was published in in 2002, followed by No Pain Whatsoever in 2014 . Grant has published two books with RRB Photobooks, A Topical Times for these Times which investigates the culture of football in Liverpool, and Benny Profane, a heartfelt look at Bidston Moss on the banks of the Mersey and the people who lived and worked there.
Ken Grant’s photographs are held in important collections of photography, including those of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Folkwang Museum Essen and other international public and private collections. He currently teaches Photography at Belfast School of Art and is a director of Northern Narratives, an arts initiative promoting the North of England in the photography industry.
