Markéta Luskačová is a Czech born photographer, who has lived and worked in London since 1975. She is well known for her early photography of Pilgrims and Mountain Village Šumiac in Slovakia, exhibited at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London in 1983.
All throughout her life in Britain she has photographed people in the East End, her work from this part of London was first exhibited at Whitechapel Art Gallery in 1991. Her photographs from Spitalfields were also exhibited at Tate Britain in 2018, together with works from herLondon Street Musicians, By the Seaseries and her early works from Slovakia.
Luskačová has ppublished a number of photobooks throughout her career, most recently RRB Photobooks published By The Sea in 2019.
